Last summer, the UM Library and the People & Development (P&D) department successfully submitted a grant application to Open Science NL, focusing on recognising and rewarding Open Science at Maastricht University (UM). The one-year project will run from June 2025 to June 2026.
We are thrilled to announce the six exceptional projects selected for the OpenUP grant! These projects stood out for their innovative approaches and commitment to fostering openness in education.
As of this month, the AI Prompt Library has been relocated to the University Library website. The AI Prompt Library contains a collection of prompt templates and helps you find the right techniques for crafting effective instructions (prompts) to achieve the best results with Generative AI tools.
As part of the student project Level 2000, at the Maastricht Science Programme, a selection of damaged books of the Special Collections was examined to better understand and manage foxing, which are brown stains that could threaten the integrity of many books.
With Talking about Books, we bring our community’s perspective on the collections to the forefront. In this video series, students, researchers, and staff from Maastricht University and MUMC+ share their favourite books—ranging from required literature for education to rare finds in our Special Collections. Their insights highlight the wide range of our collections, offering interesting perspectives on books that inspire research, education, and critical thinking.
Watch the series on our website or YouTube channel and discover books you may not have encountered before. The final two episodes will be released in the coming months, just before summer—stay tuned!
