    Highlights 2024

    We are pleased to share the Highlights 2024, a showcase of this year’s achievements and milestones.   • Database Overton now available for the entire UM community

    The Overton Index (previously called Overton) database, which provides access to a vast collection of grey literature, is now accessible to everyone within the UM community.

  • Discover the new and improved EBSCO interface

    Starting 1 February 2025, EBSCOhost, the platform used by Maastricht University (UM) researchers and students to access multiple licensed databases, will introduce a redesigned interface. This update brings more intuitive tools to refine, save, and share your search results.

  • Grant application on recognising and rewarding Open Science at UM

    Last summer, the UM Library and the People & Development (P&D) department successfully submitted a grant application to Open Science NL, focusing on recognising and rewarding Open Science at Maastricht University (UM). The one-year project will run from June 2025 to June 2026.

  • New Research Computing Support team nearly complete

    The University Library and ICT Service Centre (ICTS) are pleased to share updates on the development of the Research Computing Support team, which is being set up to assist researchers with local cloud computing resources, including the Data Science Research Infrastructure (DSRI), and to provide guidance on using (inter)national computing facilities.

  • University Library Maastricht achieves successful digital integration for enhanced heritage access

    In 2023, Maastricht University (UM) Library joined the NDE Versnellen grant program, a Dutch initiative that supports heritage institutions in making their digital collections more accessible and interconnected. Through this project, the library implemented advanced digital functionality (with IIIF) in their existing Omeka S system (software platform for digital collections), allowing rich metadata access, public availability, and compliance with national heritage standards.
