Context

cOAlition S published the Plan S principles in 2018, and after five years, it is time to reflect on the achievements and determine what could and should be improved.

The cOAlition S funders are preparing a new strategy that focuses on giving the ownership of research output back to academia and giving publishers the role of service providers.

The survey allows all researchers to share their vision of responsible publishing and help shape the future of research funding and publication.

Survey Topics

The survey covers various aspects of responsible publishing, including:

  • Priorities in academic publishing in your discipline
  • Added value of open peer review after the publication of the first version
  • Preference for open platforms over journals
  • Incorporating different types of research output
  • Evaluating reports, proceedings, and reviews
  • Creating opportunities for (open) monographs
  • Ensuring proper credit for preprints
  • Protecting the interests of early-career researchers in internationally competitive fields

Thank you for your time and valuable contribution.
