Maastricht University Library is delighted to announce two exclusive initiatives to empower our academic community in open-access publishing.

Open Access Publishing Workshop: a journey around the publishing cycle

We invite you to join our Open Access Publishing Workshop, where you can learn about the entire publishing cycle. Our comprehensive workshop will teach you about open-access publishing and provide the knowledge and tools to make informed decisions about your publishing options, helping you grow as a researcher.

Our interactive in-person session is designed exclusively for group participation. During the workshop, we will guide you through crucial milestones in the publishing cycle, covering everything from preparation and funders to sharing and impact. Our topics will include publishing strategy, authoring essentials, submission and review processes, and maximizing visibility through effective dissemination. We will stop at various checkpoints to share invaluable tips, support, and services to ensure you have the knowledge and resources to succeed.

This in-person workshop will immerse participants in theoretical discussions and practical activities related to Open Access Publishing and Open Science. The workshop’s duration, which ranges from 1 to 1.5 hours, will be customized to address your group’s specific requirements and preferences. We can build an experience based on a combination of the stops, and we encourage participants to send in questions before the workshop.

Open Access Publishing Hour: session with an OA publishing coach

Suppose you are a researcher or student at Maastricht University or MUMC and need guidance on publishing or refining your Open Access (OA) strategy. In that case, we invite you to join us for an online interactive session tailored to your needs.

During the weekly session, we will discuss up to four topics related to the Open Access (OA) Publishing Cycle, depending on your questions. We aim to cover these topics within an hour. If you have additional questions after the session, we can schedule them for the next OA Publishing Hour.
