Open Access @ Maastricht

Open Access headerOpen Access is the broad, international academic movement aiming at free online access to academic publications and free reuse of research results. The philosophy behind Open Access is that research results paid for by public funds should be freely accessible and usable worldwide.

Maastricht University promotes and facilitates Open Access publishing as part of her Open Science policy to further strengthen the connections with our environment regionally, nationally and internationally. Therefore, all UM-researchers are requested to make their publications Open Access, either by publishing in an Open Access journal or by depositing the work in the institutional repository (Pure).

The Maastricht University Library’s research support team informs and advises you on everything related to Open Access and Open Science in a broader sense. Feel free to contact us. If you are looking for information on Open Data and Research Data Management, please visit our RDM portal first.

Watch this video and find out how Open Access helps us return to the core values of science: to help advance and improve society.
