In this final update of the year, you can read more about, among other things, the sketch Charles Eyck made of Marlene Dietrich and the Easy Access Agreement (EAR II). Moreover, two new videos have been released in the "Talking About Books" series, and you'll find details about some events scheduled for 2024. On the brink of the year's end, we have also launched our new video series, "UM Library Deep Dive," with the first episode featuring the DIY Podcast Studio. Happy reading!
UM Platform for Research Ethics and Integrity (PREI) announces a funding opportunity in research fairness and equity with research integrity inspired by the recent Cape Town Statement on Research Integrity.
The Easy Access Agreement 2023 (EAR II) is an agreement regarding the use of extracts from publications for educational purposes. At the initiative of UNL and UvO, SURF collaborated closely with universities to develop the CopyrightCheck tool.
In the series Talking about books, enthusiastic readers and authors promote their favourite book. Every 6 to 8 weeks, a new video will be uploaded to the UM Library YouTube channel.
The library offers a wide range of services and support for the UM-community. However, it can be difficult to understand what a specific service or support can mean for you. So, what would be better than to hear from your fellow students, teacher or researcher? In the first episode of our new video series "UM Library Deep Dive" Constance Sommery (Director Diversity Office), Darian Meacham (Associate Professor of Philosophy at FASoS) and Charlotte van Gompel (student FHML) share their experiences with the use of our DIY Podcast Studio. Did you know...
... that some of the old editions of the lendable FPN, FHML, and SBE books, as well as books from the study landscape, are donated to Boeken voor Mensen (Books for People)? In the Boekenkelder (book cellar), these books are offered for sale at a small cost. The proceeds from the book sales go to charitable causes. This is also interesting for students who don’t mind having an older edition of a book. You can purchase the book here for a few euros.
All library staff wish you happy holidays and a wonderful start to 2024!
