Switching from Zoom to Teams
Teams will replace Zoom as of 1 August 2025. Teams offers similar functionality to Zoom for video calling and online meetings. It also offers additional features that support collaboration and integrates with Microsoft 365 applications, such as Word, Powerpoint and Outlook.

What is Teams?
Teams is a collaboration and communication platform that integrates chat, video meetings, file storage and various applications.
It is available to UM employees and students who can use the tool for online education, teamwork and collaboration.

Why use Teams?
You can use Teams when you need to:
- Organize an online lecture
Schedule a Teams meeting and share the link with students or peers. - Collaborate on Projects
Work together on documents with real-time co-authoring. - Communicate Efficiently
Use chat, audio calls, and video meetings with colleagues or peers. - Share and Store Files
Upload, share, and access files securely with colleagues or peers.
