Zoom is a video conferencing tool that is easy to use inside of Canvas or as stand-alone, either web based or as desktop app.
It enables teachers and tutors to manage synchronous (live) tutorial meetings and lectures with students.

Zoom Closed Captioning

To make your Zoom lectures more accessible for participants who are deaf or hard-of-hearing, you can add Closed Captioning to your conference or webinar. This allows the participants to read along with what you are saying in real time. We offer a manual to activate Closed Captioning in your Zoom meeting and one to upload and edit captions from Zoom recordings when sharing the recording via Mediasite.

Microsoft Teams (only for UM staff)

Maastricht University has a MS Teams license for staff that includes video conferencing. Please note that this is for staff meetings and not available for education!

MS Teams is supported by the UM IT department. Contact your faculty IT support for details and go to ICT manuals and look under Teams for instruction manuals and FAQ’s.
